The Passion of Jesus play will be shown again on Good Friday in the open air in Trafalgar Square.
This is an extremely moving experience and I recommend it highly to anyone who hasn't seen it.
It costs nothing.
The company is the same one that performs brilliant The Life of Christ at Wintershall Farm in Surrey.
There will be two performances. The first starting at noon, the second at 3.15pm. The play lasts around 3 hours or just under.
On both occasions I've been to see this, the Square was totally packed to overflowing. The play is performed down in the Square so you need to go very, very early to be able to stand at the front or up on the steps and actually see the actors.
For people who can't get a view, the play will also be shown on huge screens.
I recommend taking both warm and cold weather clothes, an umbrella, drinking water and some picnic food. Also a fold-up seat if you can't stand for long as all places it's possible to sit on will be full very early on in the day.
The first time I watched this play, I cried for the whole three hours. The second time, I had to watch it via the screen: not quite as moving but still had me in tears for much of the time. So a packet of tissues would be a good thing to take along, too.
To give you an indication of how powerful this play is, the first time I saw it, the actor playing Jesus came to stand near me at one point. He spoke to a little child next to me and a woman behind us reached out to touch his robe!
