Christmas Prayer

Heavenly Father as we celebrate the birth of Your Son Jesus Christ. We thank You for sending Him to us to redeem us from the sins of the world. Lord we are not perfect and we ask Your forgiveness for not focusing on the true meaning of Christmas. Lord I pray that You will give us clarity to understand. Father we allow the material things of the world cloud our vision and understanding of its meaning.

Lord I pray that as we go forward we will continue to praise You for all Your blessings and goodness You bestow on us. Father I pray that all the mighty ones upon earth shall come and shall declare Your righteousness to a people yet to be born-that He has done.

Lord, I pray that we may be able to say we have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great congregation. Lord let the heavens declare Your righteousness for You are our Judge. Let Your righteousness be hidden in our hearts; that we will speak of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; Help us that we will not conceal Your loving kindness and Your truth from the great congregation.

Lord I pray that all nations will see Your righteousness and Your glory. Let Your righteousness spring forth before all nations. I beseech You O, Lord, Have mercy on us and let Your words be a lamp unto our feet and light unto our path. Amen

Smeagologists

Once someone asked me “What is a Smeagologist?” My reply was simply, “Whatever you want it to be!” Seeing as I invented the name, I think I have a right to decide that it be a neutral term that is based roughly upon one’s emergence in a society that is progressively reductionist and bordering on Nihilism on one side and Contemplation on the other, I prefer the Contemplative side but attend most vigorously to the other seeing as our pale blue dot is gradually disappearing and who knows one day…See More

I ask for your prayers.

On Wednesday my mother died. My sister and I were there. We prayed again with our mother. Then she fell asleep peacefully in the arms of my sister. Our pastor arrived a short time later. He spoke again the blessing over our mother. The funeral will be next Friday. I ask for your prayers for our mother and us, in this time of parting.See More
