Online community of the London Internet Church

Hi, I'd like to meet, greet and get to know more members of this church so first I'll introduce myself.
I'm Lynda Keen. I'm a member of the Art group at St Stephen Walbrook church, I also sometimes listen to lunchtime music there, I have attended a few services and will attend more because the congregation there is a very welcoming community.
Having worked outside Britain for many years, I now live in London, which I love though Larnaca in Cyprus would be my first choice of a place to live if I didn't have to earn a living.
I'm a Christian and a pacifist. My main interests are reading, writing, drama, art, music, organic gardening, travelling, ancient history and messing about on my computer.
Over to you ...

There you go, a nice cuppa tea to go with your cake.
I agree with you on what you say about the C of E though I think it applies to all church denominations: they all tend to be patriarchal, power-smitten and often full of preacherly ego-trips. If they weren't, why would we have so many rather than just the one as in the original (divine not human) plan?
Why do you not only attend church but serve as churchwarden if you're post-theistic? I'm sure there must be a fascinatng answer to that.
I used to teach management and leadership, too. I can see why postmodernism would interest you but how do you relate queer theory to management training?

Yes, I've watched Morning Prayer. It's a wonderful and positive way to start the day.

Words of The Day

Psalm 118    1    O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. 2    Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 3    Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 4    Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 5    I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.…See More
