Hi everyone, I live in the Barbican, close to St Stephen Walbrook, but have only once attended a service there as I am a regular attendee at St Giles' Cripplegate, where I recently became Churchwarden. I get a bit impatient with the politics of the…

Welcome to the internet church's cyber cafe. This is a drop-in place to relax, introduce ourselves and get to know one another after listening to the night service, watching Premier TV, blogging, debating on the forum and/or spending time in a group

Alan This is a grsat video and really stirs the soul to respond, where can members find more of Cindis work? The footage in and around the City is so relevant to the Internet Church, thank you for sharing this, Peter Delaney

Quite clever. I particularly liked the entry: The High Priests have created a group How to Use the Temple for piety AND Profit Moneychangers joined this group Jesus does not like this.

can we just chill on this? I would rather that faith was not a football game, or a war ... Could we love the people of the NSS and not engage in a battle?

Alan, how could you post this mouthwatering picture? Knowing we can't get a slice! I bet even the Yanks didn't think up so effective a torture at Guantanamo Bay. Looks yummy and I have to think sugar, calories, forbidden fruit ... Or that commandmen…

Hi, Alan
A new job is a pretty good birthday present. How's it going? I hope you're enjoying it and your colleagues are friendly and helpful.
All the best. Lynda

Happy Birthday for tomorrow, Alan.
As your Simnel cake was all eaten up at church, here's a birthday cake for you.
God bless, Lynda

I don't think that taking on the National Secular Society is a battle, it is rather a search for truth. If a body insists on taking an action that affects faith and those admitted into the Christian Faith do we sit back and encourage others who have been baptized to deny the experince or to stand up for the risen Christ. I repeat what I wrote earlier, if the NSS does want to issue certificates of debaptising then let us all into the facts so that we might alter the records accordingly. I did not start the baptisim debate the NSS did in encouraging those who were unsure to reject a sacrament of their life. This puts in question my faith as well as theirs, that for me is a serious matter; that does not stop me praying for the NSS and those who belong to it.

Hi, Alan and Kathy I'm glad you're interested in the Bible Study group. It's very new as I only started it a few days ago and I opened the group for the simple reason that there wasn't one.
In every face to face Bible Study group I've ever attended, the group leader chose a Bible text and the group discussed its meaning.
In an internet church, I think a Bible Study group can be more democratic as all the members can act as leaders to start new discussions.
So you can choose texts and post them here for discussion and you can join in discussion of texts posted by other people once some people post some texts.
The texts could be from the current week's readings at your church services, texts you feel passionately about, texts you've thought about and have a personal interpretationof, texts that perplex you, or texts that you feel are relevant to some topical issue.
Your choice entirely.
I've done something slightly different in the "Jesus' Character" discussion space, by inviting anyone who's interested to quote Bible texts that show us something about Jesus' character. So that discussion would be more like a literary character analysis.
I chose this topic because the character of Jesus fascinates me because the whole of our Christian faith revolves around what He did, said and how He was seen and understood or not understood by those around Him.
Given that He was executed as a possible revolutionary inciting revolt against Rome and as a blasphemous apostate against the established Jewish religious establishment, and that His words and actions have had such a tremendous impact on the whole world for over 2000 years, I'm particularly interested to see if the Bible text shows Him as the "gentle, meek, mild" persona we often attribute to Him today or as something else altogether.

Just a few thoughts, totally my own opnion and open to be shot down: I would have liked to have be a Christian soon after the Resurection when the experience of the Risen Lord was not yet made into an organisation. The early communities seemed to b…

There is a sad irony in this title, ... as Christians we can look forward in hope to a new creation, but as an anthem of mankind it lacks the contrast with evil. I think old Louis, had that in mind when he sang...almost tongue in cheek.. mmm?

Lately I have been thinking about the table of the Lord. Form in religion is something that I think should be a personal thing. Content however (the person of Jesus Christ) is foundational and the complete focus of the body of Christ. Just me.
