I find this interesting as I also knew the Matthieson sisters and Leah Manning. My parents were involved in the South Chingford Brotherhood movement and through this knew many Christians who were also Socialists.I grew up with family friends such as Arthur and bessie Bottomly Edward Redhead and Reg Sorenson. All very honourable and sincere people who devoted time to the local community.
Both Phil and myself grew up in this area,we both went to Selwyn Avenue school and them Phil went on to the Monoux Grammar school and I went to Chingford Girls school. We now live in Woodford Green but have belonged all our lives to local organisations including Chingfrod Labout Party and Chingford C.N.D.

Hopefully we will meet sometime and then we can talk about all this.

Best wishes,

Margaret.

I remember quite a lot about Louisa Oaks and her husband I used to play in the garden of the house where they lived whilst my mother attended classes in their home.We have a picture on our wall that they gave to my parents as a wedding present.
Best wishes,Margaret.
