Love not lost

Amazingly love is not lost.I still feel the same as I did in June, I just had not realised it.Love does not wane, it is for ever there.I guess that love is...  The willingness and ability to allow those that one loves to do as they please,  without any insistance that they satisfy you.I ask nothing of God, yet feel God's warmthGod has asked nothing of me and therefore accepts me for who and what I amFor this, I am deeply overjoyedRegards to you all and take care,God blessEdward See More

I beg to differ. "Protestant" does not mean a reform movement of protest within the Catholic Church The word "Protestant" is a curious inversion of the meaning of the word "protest" since Elizabethan…

I think the prayer could have been meant for aid workers who find themselves in a terrible position. When there is an overwhelming disaster, such as the famines in Africa we are hearing about now,the sheer weight of numbers of those coming into…

A strange prayer request

Today I was working in Victoria and took the opportunity to attend mass at Westminster Cathedral.During mass we were asked to pray for those that decide who should live and who should die !Although I am not saying we should not pray for these people, it just seems a very strange prayer request from the Bishop of the mother of Catholic churches within London. There are, I am sure, more deserving causes and people to pray for. The nurses at Gt Ormond st. My prayer for today is that all my…See More

Hello, yes it is an interesting question. Why is God hiding from us. We're on our way to God. But somehow we feel abandoned by him. Jesus also asks: "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" I know that feeling. And then you feel…

What am I feeling now?

On a rollercoaster within a whirlpool. This is how I am feeling now. After the heady, blurful events of June, the present feels like a becalmed yacht.A restless yacht at that.Yes. I am mixing metaphors here. I am trying to be demonstrable regrding my mentalstate. In June I was giving a glimpse, a touch, an audienece even by God. God was able toconvey to me the love that is held for each and every one of us.It is a feeling beyond comparison, beyond discription.I pinch myself and ask; "Did it…See More

God's love

About two weeks ago I asked "What am I feeling?" to this church and otherinternet sites. I was informed by some that it is the presence of God.A calling. Being touched.C.S.Lewis, in his book, "Suprised by joy", declares that it is the sudden realisation that God exists and the joy that is felt as a result. All of these explanations are possible but yesterday it occurred to me thatwhat I am feeling is God's love for me and my love for God.It is my acknowledgement that God exists and God's love…See More

My visit to St Stephen walbrook

I could harp on endlessly regarding this church, but I shall not. I shall spareyou this. You probably know more about the place than I do.What I would like to convey is that visiting St Stephen Walbrook has been one thehappiest moments of my life.It was my inaugural visit to a church, any church, on my own. I was a liitleaprehensive as to what I could expect. What rituals I need to follow etc.I need not have worried on that account. As soon as I entered the church I feltthe warmth, the love,…See More

What? No church?

Today is Sunday. God's day.It has occurred to me that I have no church to attend other than LIC.I feel left out in the cold. Not a nice feeling at all.I hope to put this right soon.As Lynda so aptly puts it, I am shopping.I still have to pinch myself to ensure that I am awake, that I am notdreaming any of this.I find it hard to contemplate that I am even pursuing this.It is like having an "Out of body" experience. Looking down on myself andhoping I am conducting myself in a dignified manner. It…See More

Hello, Edward, and welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy exploring here and I'm looking forward to hearing your story.

Since you live in London, I hope you also get the opportunity some time to visit our mother church, St Stephen Walbrook. Details about it are on here in the featured discussion on the physical side of the LIC and also on the church homepage at www.ststephenwalbrook.net

God bless. Lynda
