Thank you, Linda, for providing us with the Jewish background of these verses. This makes the metaphors which Jesus employs very powerful indeed. Clearly, the metaphors bread/flesh and blood/wine refer to Christ as the crucified one and the source of…

Hello, Henk
Following your comment in the "Why have an internet church?" discussion, I thought you might like to know that from now on, each Sunday, I am going to post a weekly reading from the Bible for us to ponder and comment on in the Bible Study Group.
I'm basing the texts on readings from the Common Worship Lectionary and using the King James version of the Bible.
I've just posted this week's reading.
I've also posted a link to an Audio Bible in case anyone would like to listen to the reading rather than read it.
I hope you'll be interested in joining that group and the discussions on Bible readings.
Looking forward to some interesting discussions.
God bless. Lynda
Hi, Henk.
Some time ago, you suggested that the webmaster could initiate some discussions by posing some challenging questions.
As I'm now editing the social network pages here, I've now started several discussions in the Forum section with what I hope are challenging questions. So I hope you're going to contribute something to the discussions to get them kicked off.
Best regards and God bless. Lynda
Hi, Henk
I've just joined the internet church. I saw your comment that maybe the webmaster could initiate some discussions. Peter Delaney did set one off but I know he's very busy (because I'm in London and know St Stephen Walbrook is very busy during Lent and Easter) so I think maybe we members should start off our own. I've posted some ideas for discussion and hope you might, too!
Isn't it wonderful to have an international church community right here at our fingertips?
Happy Easter. Lynda

Psalm 118 1 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. 2 Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 3 Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 4 Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 5 I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.…See More
