i was interested to hear you had been to a Latvian service. The Lithuanians who sang with us sounded exquisite. Most of the carols were gentle but there were a couple of more lively ones. We might hava an opportunity to visit them…

I really appreciated your poem Naomi. I write some myself from time to time. I live in Guildford. I haven't seen any cormorants but many other birds around. I look forward to more of your work.

Hi Lynda, I am also reading Job and agree with you about the wonderful poetry. It is true, imagery can be lost in translation, but this is superb. I am wondering what it will be like when translated into the African languages I have been working in.…

Your carol service, with the Lithuanian carols, sounds lovely, Jean.

I went to a Latvian service last year and found the tunes to their hymns so jolly that I joined in even though I don't understand one word of Latvian!

Were the Lithuanian carols lively and jolly or more gentle and sentimental?

Hi, Jean
It'd be great to meet you if you attend any of the events at St Stephen Walbrook. See the Events section for forthcoming services. I will be there on Sunday 26th for Vespers and at the Business Harvest Festival on 29th.
The Walbrook Art Group is currently doing visits to our own artists. The next one is the aftenoon of Saturday 25 September to Janet and Tony Gant, sculptor and potter (see the video of some of their work in the Videos section). Later visits include John Baker and Pam Raworth, also featured in videos here. There's also a tour of St Stephen Walbrook's monuments. If you're interested, I can send you dates and details.
God bless. Lynda

Dear Jean
Great that you're planning to post your photos, the more the merrier.
In the Photos section, click on the Add Photo link at the right-hand side.
An orange box will appear that says Click to Add Photos. Click on that.
Browse to find your photos.
Select them and click Open.
When they appear on the screen, click Upload.
Wait while they upload.
Then name each photo and write a short description of it.
You should also add tags as that helps people find your photos when they search with particular keywords. So, for example, I put in the tags box "art, painting" or "art, pottery" or "paintings, Holy Land" etc
Once you've labelled all your photos, you'll see an option to put them into an album.
Name your album and again give a brief description and add keyword tags.
Then click the orange Save box over on the right.
That's all.

All the photos posted onto the website go into the slideshow, which I've now put at the top centre of the main page so that it gets immediate attentin when anyone enters the site. I've made the photos appear there in random order so they'll all be shown equally often.
I'll look forward to seeing them posted.
Best regards and God bless. Lynda

Words of The Day

Psalm 118    1    O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. 2    Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 3    Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 4    Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 5    I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.…See More
