I am enjoying this website, particularly the links to Morning and Night Prayer. I normally follow these (particularly Compline) via the Church of England link, but the added dimension of having these read by a 'real person' in St Stephen's is very special.
I was appointed a 'lay worship leader' in Winchester diocese in April 2005 - like others with different titles around the UK, we are a lesser breed than Licensed Lay Ministers/Lay Readers, with a considerably abbreviated training, but we are 'commissioned' by our respective bishops (like boilers) to take services of the word in our own benefices.
I have started a website, layanglicana.org, for Anglican laity to try and work out together what is happening in the Anglican Communion and sharing ideas for making the liturgy work in practice in small, particularly rural, communities, where we try to assist the priest in 'keeping the show on the road'.
Lynda Keen said… Hello, Laura, and welcome to the London Internet Church ommunity forum, which I edit.
I'm glad you're enjoying what you've seen so far and hope you like more of what we have to offer.
I know Winchester as I once taught a summer school in Winchester College. Lovely town and lovely countryside all around.
God bless. Lynda
