Yes I live in Borough of Lewisham! born near here. Aldeburgh is superb...a real old fashioned place...no super markets (except small Co-op) no stalls etc. The sea is wild at times but at others smooth....there are some ancient and historic places…
Thanks Lynda...as to animals (which in my own case means especially dogs, but others cannot be excluded. The death of a dog is ordinary and natural..just as we pass dead animals by the roadside. Yet our grief is per sonal and strong. We miss the…
Dear Lynda.....just to let you know I have begun my plans for a short 10 days trip to syria next march! I have found some helpful contacts actually there which have been recommended. so thank you for the planting!
Re the question about animals and…
Many thanks Lynda,
No I am sorry I was not clear before. the Guild I belong to lays on many activities during the year most of which are too expensive for me! The trip to Syria is such..it is also too expensive and involves some official functions…
Dear Lynda,
Many thanks for your lovely response. I do appreciate this.
As to myself I have held a long interest in comparative religion...I sometimes think that pluralism is a little condescending and I tend to go in a guarded way towadrs…

Welcome to the London Internet Church, I hope you find a place to worship, think and pray as a member of the e-congregation. God bless you.

Yes, I love the sea in winter, too. When I was a child, we used to see 30 foot high waves, which then crashed against a flood wall. When I lived in Beirut, my flat was on the Corniche and the Mediterranean waves get pretty spectacular in winter, too. Plus, I was seeing them with the snow-covered slopes and peak of Mt Sannine as a backdrop. Stunning stuff.
There's a group here called Travellers' Rest, especially for describing churches visited everywhere in the world. Do you think you could write something in there about Dunwich, and other churches in Suffolk?
God bless. Lynda
I don't know Aldeburgh but anywhere near the sea has to be a good place to be. That's one of the things I miss about living in London - though I live between Millwall Dock and the River Thames so am surrounded by water, it isn't the same as living near the sea.
I miss both sea and mountains.
Aldeburgh looks pretty wild and unspoilt in pix online. Is it really like that? If so, how lovely.
Hi, Paul
I was so sorry to read your comment that you had 2 dogs that died in the recent past. Losing pets is bereavement just as losing family or friends is, isn't it?
I copied your comments about animals' minds into the discussion forum "Do animals have souls?" RJ wrote something interesting there so you might like to continue the discussion with him.
I mentioned my friend in Lebanon who has a Syrian wife. That's Yahya, who's shown in my In the Footsteps of Jesus video. His elder son has now joined here as I sent him a link to the video since his Dad helped me so much to plan and organise that trip - he didn't just come on the day but drove me all around on all the pre-trip research journeys, too.
I'll tell Mohammad that you're planning to visit Syria and see if Yahya can send you some contacts there.
God bless. Lynda
Bravo, Paul, I am very glad to hear this.
A good time to go, too, when the weather is neither too hot nor too cold.
We'll look forward to lots of photos in the spring.
Perhaps you should post something in the discussion on whether animals have souls as your views would refute RJ's. Discussions are always more interesting when more than one argument is put forward.
Having been owned by cats for most of my life, I'd tend to agree with you rather than with what seems to me an uncharitable view that humans are the only animals to have souls.

Hello, Paul, and welcome to the London Internet Church community forum.
Thank you for posting such a very, very interesting question in the Travellers' Rest group. I'm afraid I've given you a very looooooooooong answer but you really hit my experience like a hammer hitting a nail on the head.
Have you lived in Syria or elsewhere in the Middle East? I'm intrigued to know what prompted your question.
I edit the community forum and am available to answer any queries about how to do things on this website.
I look forward to more contributions and interesting discussion prompts from you. Best regards and God bless. Lynda
Thank you for your warm welcome Lynda. I live in an isolated village where a combination of transport difficulties and personal health issues make it difficult to get out and be part of a larger community. It was a…

Psalm 118 1 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. 2 Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 3 Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 4 Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 5 I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.…See More
