Peter Delaney replied to Rev. Donald A Davis's discussion 'Theology'

The Christ of the Resurrection

No doubt you will have been exposed to popular images of Jesus Christ as seen by the popular press or on Easter cards? If you have you will discern that artists flounder to express how this resurrection Christ should be portrayed. Some of course opt for the sickly epicene figure beloved of our Victorian relations graphic in representation, a kind of resucitated figure hovering over the earth neither spiritual nor human, in fact a transitional body neither in heaven nor on earth; not so far off…See More

Hi Peter! Am having a great time exploring the on-line church and look forward to joining in discussions etc when I can. It was lovely to see you at the Friends evening - it was a little strange being in church after such a long absence (must be about 5 years!!) but I felt so welcomed I soon felt at home. I'd like to come along again but my work hours clash with most of the services so meeting you all here is perhaps the ideal solution for now. Hope you are well. Love x

-"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them."--St. Matthew 18:20. Thank you for your most warm and cordial welcome. I do look forward to worshiping here in this internet gathering and experiencing the Unique Presence of Christ who "stands in the breach". I will also remember you by name in my prayers.~~Reginald

Dear Peter,

Thank you for your welcome to the Internet Church, I am amazed how quickly all this has happened, through Margaret and Phil Brown and of course you came to us in Chingford ~ I so enjoyed listening to you that day.

I am very impressed with the website of the London Internet Church and some of its features are absolutely wonderful and for the first time ever I chatted online! and it was with Lynda, who is brilliant to chat to and also so helpful in letting me know how to do things.

Best wishes
Pam

Dear Peter,
Of course I will share some art information with the group. I'm teaching three classes this autumn, so when I see something that might be of interest, I will post it.
All the best,
Lisa

Words of The Day

Psalm 118    1    O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. 2    Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 3    Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 4    Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever. 5    I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.…See More
