I have a question. I hope that a member of the London Internet Church can answer this question. I often pray the morning and evening prayer. In the Book of Common Prayer, the Psalms are divided in…Continue

I want to introduce myself. My name is Thomas. I am 51 years old. At the Universities of Bochum and Bonn, I have studied (many years ago) Catholic theology and philosophy. In 1986 I finished my studies up to grade. Three years ago I left the Catholic Church and converted to the Lutheran Church. I am very happy to have taken this step. In the last twenty years, I was often in London. This city has become my second home. Since 2010 I am also a member of the London Internet Church. - I am a huge animal lover. Watch our cats (Brandy,Mietzi and Grisella). In my spare time I read a lot. Above all English poems and detective stories. I also love to write and share thoughts. Maybe I find a pen pal who wants to write me. Greetings from Germany, Thomas
Gosh, sorry to hear the nursing home people were so lacking in compassion. And thank goodness your mother is now safely home, with good nursing care.
God bless. Lynda
Sorry to hear the news about the nursing home, Thomas, but I expect you are glad to have your mother back home where you can see she's well looked after.
London is gearing up for the Queen's Jubilee in June when the celebrations will include 1,000 boats in a procession on the Thames. I expect there will be street parties everywhere, too.
London is also preparing for the Olympics, which look as if they'll be a nightmare for those of us who live in east London as our busiest Tube hubs at Canary Wharf and Stratford will be closed to us and the car park at the "biggest shopping mall in Europe" will be closed for many months even though the Games only last for two weeks.
Ah well, that's life. I'll either hibernate for the two weeks or go abroad on holiday to escape the chaos!
God bless. Lynda
Hello Thomas,
it is very good to be nominated your friend, and to be accepted into this community. Poetry and music are the two driving forces of my life, and it is wonderful to have friends here similarly affected.
I love your cats. If any creature is a Lord of Creation, it is the cat.
God bless,
Naomi
I'm glad to hear your mother is being well cared for, Thomas. Good luck with your studies next year and with your career afterwards.
Hi Thomas I gladly accept your friend's request. I will chat/talk/blog with you soon.
Until then, take care.
Edward
Hi, Thomas
Sorry to hear your Mum's recovery is erratic but I hope she gets completely well soon. My prayers are with you both.
Yes, I agree with you, not many of our members on the forum are very active. Most people prefer to look rather than contribute - I think because many people are not very confident when using a computer. Also, often people don't have much free time in these days of recession when most have to work very long hours to hold on to their jobs.
I really appreciate your contributions and those of other people who do add discussions, blogs, photos or music.
I like your latest cat photos. They reminded me of funny places my cats used to sit or sleep. Like, in the in and out trays on my desk. One of my cats loved sitting on the ironing board so I could never fold it up and tidy it away. She also liked peering down at me from the top of the wardrobe. Of course, both slept on chairs, sofas and beds.
Whoever wrote "the cat sat on the mat" never had a cat!
God bless. Lynda
Hi, Thomas, thanks for posting the photos related to Dr Johnson. Does that mean you were here in London recently?
God bless. Lynda
