While looking for and posting video and audio files to this website, I have like C S Lewis been "surprised by joy"; by the abundance of the harvest festival produced by the Christian faith.
The display includes:
Drama from mystery plays to films about Jesus, the prophets, the saints, right through to the Lego Parable videos
Books from the New Testament to Dickens' Christmas Carol
Poetry from Blake to Hopkins to Gibran
Songs from Gregorian chants through hymns and carols, oratorios, requiems to gospel spirituals and protest folk songs, and how many beautiful solo voices, groups and choirs are singing God's praises
Instrumental music from bellringers, orchestras, organists and didgeridoos
Visual Art from frescoes to painting, sculpture, stained glass and Charlie Brown cartoons
Festival traditions such as building creches, preparing special foods and gift giving but most of all spending time with loved ones
What a cornucopia of creativity has sprung from Christianity.

Smeagologists

Once someone asked me “What is a Smeagologist?” My reply was simply, “Whatever you want it to be!” Seeing as I invented the name, I think I have a right to decide that it be a neutral term that is based roughly upon one’s emergence in a society that is progressively reductionist and bordering on Nihilism on one side and Contemplation on the other, I prefer the Contemplative side but attend most vigorously to the other seeing as our pale blue dot is gradually disappearing and who knows one day…See More

I ask for your prayers.

On Wednesday my mother died. My sister and I were there. We prayed again with our mother. Then she fell asleep peacefully in the arms of my sister. Our pastor arrived a short time later. He spoke again the blessing over our mother. The funeral will be next Friday. I ask for your prayers for our mother and us, in this time of parting.See More

It's so great to be able to jump after so many years of walking and sitting and standing. LOL
