On a rollercoaster within a whirlpool.

This is how I am feeling now.

After the heady, blurful events of June, the present feels like a becalmed yacht.
A restless yacht at that.

Yes. I am mixing metaphors here. I am trying to be demonstrable regrding my mental
state.

In June I was giving a glimpse, a touch, an audienece even by God. God was able to
convey to me the love that is held for each and every one of us.
It is a feeling beyond comparison, beyond discription.

I pinch myself and ask; "Did it happen"?

Yes it did happen. It was real. It was tangible. It was joyful.

Now?  Now nothing.

Since July not a whisper. Now I am feeling like a deflated balloon.

I almost feel like It is pre June but not quite.

Pre June I knew nothing of God and thought nothing of God.

Today I know of God and think of God so now I know what it is that I am seeking.

I seek Gods love and presence.

Now that I have experienced it I want more. To recapture those glorious days of
June 2011. It occupies my entire time almost to the extent of being fanatical.

I know what I had, I know what I want, I just don't know how to get it.

Should I be attending church on a regular basis or is the worship of God in my own
inimitable way sufficient?

Can you help?

Regards, as always,

Edward

God bless all,

Hello, yes it is an interesting question. Why is God hiding from us. We're on our way to God. But somehow we feel abandoned by him. Jesus also asks: "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" I know that feeling. And then you feel it, God is there. On the road, after a discussion, in the silence of the church.
I know the Jesus prayer. During my studies I got to know it. I draw strength from this prayer. It comes from the Orthodox Church.

God bless you!

Hi Lynda.

Yes. I did. I did waive in the direction of Thomas of Bochum when I was in the vicinity.

I forget Lynda, when is the tea party?

Regards,

Eddie

Hi, Eddie, glad to hear you're back safely from Poland. I hope you remembered to wave in Thomas' direction as you passed nearby.

Are you reading the Gospels? I think getting to know something about the character of Jesus will put you on the right road.

See you at the St Stephen Walbrook garden party, I hope.

God bless. Lynda

"Hello, yes this is a great idea. The idea, indeed the Spirit of Pentecost is difficult to explain. In Germany only a few people know the real meaning of this feast. I find this a very impressive sermon, certainly dangerous. Measured by human…"

Smeagologists

Once someone asked me “What is a Smeagologist?” My reply was simply, “Whatever you want it to be!” Seeing as I invented the name, I think I have a right to decide that it be a neutral term that is based roughly upon one’s emergence in a society that is progressively reductionist and bordering on Nihilism on one side and Contemplation on the other, I prefer the Contemplative side but attend most vigorously to the other seeing as our pale blue dot is gradually disappearing and who knows one day…See More

I ask for your prayers.

On Wednesday my mother died. My sister and I were there. We prayed again with our mother. Then she fell asleep peacefully in the arms of my sister. Our pastor arrived a short time later. He spoke again the blessing over our mother. The funeral will be next Friday. I ask for your prayers for our mother and us, in this time of parting.See More
